Busy Busy!

Well it's definitely been busy around our house lately as we work on getting ready for little Miss K to arrive which will now be within the next 3 weeks.  Darius seems to be getting excited about it again, but maybe that's because we've been loading up on clothes and supplies finally and he's getting to pick out some stuff for her.

So much tiny adorable pinkness.

Her side of the closet is filling up with all sorts of pink, haha.  D doesn't mind sharing the closet with it all but I think Dad is a little freaked out by just how much pink there is coming into the house. I love that D likes picking things out for her though, we'll see if he's as excited when she's finally here.

Evidence Dad is warming up to all the pink clothes... he picked these out.

Scarer in Training

Miss K isn't the only one getting all the stuff, though.  Darius is all sorts of excited about the new sheets he got to pick out.  Mike (Monster's Inc.) is his favorite movie so he was really excited when we found these.  Plus they match the beanie baby that Dad got him while he was on a business trip in January (that would be the little Mike under the Mike on his pillow, lol).  I love that Mike is his favorite, not Sully.  He's like that with Despicable Me, too.  It's not about any of the girls or Gru, it's the minions.

He also loves brushing his teeth which is so weird to me, fantastic, but still so weird.  LOL

There's been lots of clothes in it for D, too.  Including new PJ's because most of what he had looked like he was ready for a flood.  >.<  Of course, he's our little nerd and picked himself out some sweet Darth Vadar PJ's.  He's also obsessed with the Vadar's Little Princess book of comics we got, even though it's not really something to read to someone, I've been reading it every nap and bedtime since we bought it, all at his request.

Yep, still being that secretive preggo.
Because I can, damn it.

I also posted this on instagram, twitter and facebook as a hint to the next letter in Miss K's name and the guessing has begun, haha.  Some people have been surprisingly SUPER close but still not telling until she's here!

Takara enjoys the shade from the bump.

I really haven't taken many bump photos this time around.  Just been busy and forgetful.  I was forgetful last time, too but this round has been really bad.  Most have actually been from this angle, though, which is really cracking me up this pregnancy for some reason.  Except when in the kitchen walking with a knife and Takara wandering underfoot wanting milk.  She doesn't get that I can no longer see this little routine anymore. -_-

Last, but not least, I leave you with this little gem of Cody and D watching the Daytona 500 on Sunday.  At this moment D was yelling "Go, Junior, go!!"  Which was super adorable and must have been pretty dang effective because he won!!  Darius even got to stay up late to watch the end, plus by his normal bedtime Jr. was in the lead and we knew if he won we couldn't contain ourselves well enough to not wake him up. XD

So there's a little peek into what we've been up to lately.  Have my hospital bag all packed (it's weirding me out that this will be my first night away from D) and I'm working on making my own nursing tank tops (I might post a tutorial here later on) plus just our regular day to day fun, which currently includes a lot of cabin fever thanks to a bitter cold winter.  Speaking of the cabin fever, what are your favorite cabin fever boredom busters?

34 Weeks & a Request for D

So I had my 34 week appointment today!  Things are going well and I have the option to start weekly appointments next week or waiting til week 36 because my pregnancy has been so normal.
*knocks on wood because she's superstitious like that*

I haven't gained much since the last appointment (maybe a pound I think which is surprising considering how big I am) and my blood pressure is great.  I had worried a little last week I might be getting the pregnancy induced hypertension but there were absolutely no signs of it today and now that I look back on it we had gotten a watermelon and I tend to have a bit of watermelon with my salt so we're sure that's the culprit.

Today my tummy measured at 36 so we're still right on with that too.  Oh and before I forget here is a baby bump photo I took yesterday.
34 Weeks & 4 Days

No wonder it takes forever to get comfortable enough to finally fall asleep. O.o
Also found out I'm not dilated (is that how you even spell that?) at all but I am 50% thinned out.  Which really doesn't mean anything but say I start having contractions and we head to the hospital if I'm dilated then we know I've made progress and it's time to be admitted.  Oh and along those lines... I found out we're to the point now that if D decides he wants to come out they won't stop him.  So uh... when you see me and my bump please ask D to not be like his father (who has to be everywhere ridiculously early) and if he could at least wait for me to finish up my work shift on May 6th before starting his entrance into the world that would be fantastic, hahaha.

Oh and D's godmother, Margarita, also came to town Wednesday and we went to Build-a-Bear with her girls and we made D a bear!  So here it is:
A Bear for D
He's super soft and I must admit I did some cuddling with him when I got home.  Oh... and when you press his paw he plays the Star Wars theme.  (I'd have preferred a Star Trek theme but sadly that side of the nerd universe is not well represented at Build-a-Bear. *pouts*)

What?  We're two nerds having a baby, you know he's going to get nerd stuff.  Just no red Star Trek uniforms, please and thanks.  ;)

33 Weeks

Today marks 33 weeks!

I suppose I should catch up on all the weeks I've been leaving you hanging.  Oops.

28 Weeks
And I have no idea how it looks like I've taken a step backwards and am just fat... but yeah... there ya go.  Now you know why I hadn't posted that one.

This one is 29 weeks and 6 days so pretty much 30 weeks
29 weeks & 6 days
Was trying on maternity shirts because I was fed up with feeling frumpy.  Though looking at this photo I see makeup would obviously help with that too, lol.  Decided against this one though because my belly band was already peeking out from underneath it so I knew it wouldn't last until the end of the pregnancy.

This is 31 weeks & 6 days.
Project 365: 03-26-11
This was the maternity shirt I did buy. I love it.

So there's some new baby bump pics!  We also (or rather Cody) got a lot done on D's room yesterday too so I'll be posting those soon too. ^.^

Where Did February Go?

Ummmm & March.
Oops
T^T
Really sorry everyone but things have been going well and there hasn't been much to say I guess other than there seems to be some not-so-patiently waiting going on, haha.  Plus for those that don't know, this is my last semester of college and I have to put together a senior portfolio so I've been working hard at that and trying to get photoshoots set up, do said photoshoot & edit photos on top of other classes.  Well... on to what you're here for. ;)

End of January I had my 24 week doctor's appointment and had gained 5 pounds and we started taking belly measurements.  As long as we're within 2 or 3 of the week we're good to go and I was at 25. ^.^

Oh and I've pretty much failed at taking belly pics but here is one from 23 weeks. :)

I had my 28 week appointment Thursday, March 3rd.  Got to do a glucose test.  Fun, fun!  It wasn't that bad but I think it was because I got the orange flavored drink for it.  Seems like everyone who had Cola hated the whole thing.  It was pretty much like drinking a bunch of melted orange icee pops.  What they do is have you drink this intensely sugary drink and draw blood to see if you're handling it ok.  Standard test these days.  I didn't get sick so that was good.  But just like too many icee pops it was sweet enough it made my throat burn!

Then of course I got weighed and measured the belly again and I gained another 4 1/2 pounds and the belly measured in at 29 so we're good there.  Dunno if you guys are interested in this stuff but really it's all I've got, haha.

He's quite the little mover though and his new favorite thing is to stick his toes in my ribs.  The doctor said sometimes a cold pack will get them to move away but it really doesn't bother me.  I've tried to catch some video of him kicking and punching around but just like the dog he seems to know when a camera is pointed at him.  Better get used to it little buddy, you're going to get that a LOT in a few months.  It's pretty distracting in classes though, I'm completely fascinated with watching him move around and sometimes he really gets to going and I have to stifle a laugh in the middle of class.  Then sometimes he kicks so hard I don't even have to see my belly move and it makes me giggle like the other day in critique when I started getting toes in my ribs, haha.

A new, more updated post is coming I swear!  This one has been waiting to be posted since the 5th of March & I figured I'd add the next appointment & 1st baby shower fun into next post instead of one loooooong post.
^.^

Ultrasound Round 2

We had another ultrasound Wednesday, this time a Step 2 (or something like that) to try and get a better look at little man's palate to see what we were dealing with.  They said it was really hard to get palate shots so they didn't spend a lot of time looking but we did get some great pictures of his face and his top lip is perfect.  So these doctors said they weren't worried about it since it's extremely rare to have one without the other.  Still possible but very unlikely.

So now?  Pictures, ultrasound and otherwise.
:D

(With the exception of the it's a boy one because some dope lost it.  Me being the dope in question. >.<  But we've seen that one before, just thought it was funny because he's very obvious about it.  I think it's to help give Cody some bragging power for being right about the sex all along, haha.)

A little foot that I can't wait to tickle.

Then after some patience we got pictures of both feet. He was doing a lot of kicking around though so it was hard to get, haha, but that's pretty par for the course for him I can assure you.

Last but not least a profile picture.

Other than that things are going well.  He's determined to make me eat healthier though and I just can not get enough of vegetables and fruits.  Anything with excessive grease does not go over well either (in the first trimester even the smell of grease sent me running).

Oh and the other night I discovered my stomach muscles were really sore, compared to usual, and so I was like jeez, what the heck and looked in the mirror and...

BAM!
I'm starting to show pretty good now, or at least I'm finally leaving that "I just look fat not pregnant" stage, haha.
